How can I get better at Spanish?
September 27th, 2009 | by Top Writer |Pinkerton asked:
After spending several years learning Spanish in high school and currently college, I think that I have more or less learned everything that I can learn about Spanish in a classroom. I already know all the tenses and conjugations, I have a sizable vocabulary, and I’m pretty good at reading and writing. However, I’m pretty weak when it comes to speaking and listening. Is there a cost effective way of improving? I think that travelling to a Spanish country is out of the question right now, since I can’t afford it.

use spanish as much as possible in your daily life. switch everything (including electronics) to it. Talk as much as you can to anyone who speaks it (other students, professors, etc.) it is likely that your city has a community of spanish-speakers; get in contact with them. try to think in it; start saying your favorite expressions in it; whenever you say anything, think of its translation in spanish.
